Pringle had plenty to do with their fourth win as his hustle plays and cat-quick moves allowed the Batang Pier to overcome the ejection of import Malcolm White on the way to a 98-94 upset of the fancied Beermen.
GlobalPort, which improved to 4-4, entered the game coming off defeats to Rain or Shine (96-90) last May 20 and Alaska (109-103) last June 2 despite taking big leads in both matches.
“We’ve been more on the unfortunate side so I knew if we just kept playing hard in the endgame, we gonna come over with a big win sooner or later,” Pringle said.
“I told the guys ‘Hey man, let’s keep talking, keep playing hard until the end of the game. It doesn’t matter – win or lose – as long as we give everything we got till the end of the game, we can be satisfied. And finally, we came up with the win.'”
Pringle finished with 22 points, six rebounds, eight assists and three steals as he brought his stirring performance in the recent FIBA 3×3 World Cup into the match.
